Latest US Open News

This has been a big week in the US Open. The men’s and women’s brackets are almost complete as a Federer v. Nadal final on the men’s side seems likely. The darling of the tournament, 20 year old Caroline Wozniacki, had her hopes of winning her first grand slam dashed by the wind and her opponent today at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. She was the heavy favorite coming into the tournament but just couldn’t handle Zvonareva’s powerful serves and aggression.

Venus Williams just lost to Kim Clijsters in three sets. Unfortunately we won’t get a chance to see her in another lace number in the final. It wouldn’t have topped her sister anyways. The men’s semifinals and women’s final will be televised tomorrow on CBS. It should be a good day of action.

Roger Federer is a Swiss G

Check out the shot he hit against Dabul in the second round of the U.S. Open.

Not only did he make the shot but it was perfectly placed. He completely crossed Dabul up. That poor guy had no chance of returning the shot. There haven’t been any surprises on the men’s or women’s side of the bracket after the first few days of the tournament but the action should start to heat up by Thursday. Venus Williams’ Outift

If any of you watched Venus Williams’ first round match at the French Open you might have found yourself asking, “am I watching tennis or a strip tease?” Based upon the pictures of her outfit its pretty hard to tell. Venus wore what looked like a lace corset top with short skin tone tights underneath. If you just glance at the photo, the skin tone tights make it look like she was going commando.

Apparently Venus made this wardrobe decision to cause some controversy as the interview below shows. She has definitely succeeded. On another note, while Serena’s booty gets a lot of pub, Venus is no slouch. She is pretty well endowed and her latest outfit puts everything on display. Check out this gallery of some other interesting outfits that have appeared on the tour. Andre Agassi playing in jean shorts is a classic. That must have been extremely uncomfortable.

The commentary on Serena Williams catsuit a little after the fifth minute of this video is hilarious “the catsuit gets replayed all the time… it makes top ten lists, it goes down at least with men as a landmark moment in tennis history.” I have to agree with that one. Show me a man who says he has not seen this outfit and I will show you a liar.
